As the saying goes, “time marches on”, and so it has for the St. James Mr. and Mrs. Club. It is with deep sadness that the remaining members of this organization have decided to say “farewell” to a club that has been in existence for sixty or more years. Our membership has slowly been depleted with the loss of so many of our members. We have not been able to generate new members to replace those we have lost. The lifestyle of this resent generation has so many obligations that joining more organizations has become attainable.
Our remaining members are still major contributors to our church in many ways and will continue as long as possible. We are pleased to see the progress made in our St. James Sunday School. We see these young people as the future of our church and we will respond to their needs whenever we are able. We are planning to use the remaining monies in our treasury to go to Sunday School to help stimulate its growth. In closing, I wish to interject my personal feelings as the present and the past chairman of the M/M Club. Oshyn Kasparian and I have been a part of the St James Church from its inception. I wish to convey that the friendship and bond we have made with our church members and the members of our other church organizations have been the greatest joy and fulfillment of our lives. Meeting people, working with people, sharing with people will bring joy and satisfaction.
It is the hope that our younger married couples will soon find the time to devote and rekindle this loving and caring organization. Nothing is impossible! My loving “thank you” to all those who have devoted a year of dedicated comradeship to our Mr. and Mrs. Club. Helen Kasparian
